theatreLab is a not for profit company that relies on donations, fundraising, external funding and support from our partners to do our activity. theatreLab's core staff work on a voluntary basis. 

We are grateful to our partner Producer Works,  Bath School of Music and Performance  and Bath Spa  Productions for their ongoing support.

All funds given to theatreLab go towards supporting our activity which includes: the upkeep of the website, general administration, actors and directors wages and marketing materials that we print.

theatreLab connects theatre creatives to stimulate ideas and develop new theatre work. 

 

We hold monthy workshops  to workshop new scripts and creative proposals, offering a regular opportunity to meet other creatives, exchange ideas and initiate collaboration. 

 

Scripts and projects that are submitted or developed through theatreLab can go forward to one of our public events and be considered by Producer Works, a partner organisation that supports theatre producers.

Founded in 2010 by John-Jackson Almond, Barry Edwards, Kerry Irvine and Chris Mellor as a response to offer theatre makers a resource that connected the development of theatre product with producer led strategies to support it's route to a theatre performance market. 

PURPOSE 

Is a research informed organisation that is committed to the creation of new theatre product.
 
At the heart of theatreLab and it's activity is the creation, development and delivery of new theatre performance based on some guiding principles around open collaboration and partnerships, innovation, research and a producer centred approach to creative product development .
 
We offer a range of events, workshops and resources to encourage a creative community and facilitate routes to market for new theatre performance.
